The Glass Packaging Institute (GPI) has announced that it’s accepting entries for the 2010 Clear Choice Awards. The award recognizes the contribution glass packaging makes to the image, marketability, sustainability and success of a variety of products–including cosmetics. GPI will be holding a virtual Clear Choice Awards event and the winners will be announced on the GPI website the week of September 12, 2010, during GPI’s Recycle Glass Week.

“Designing and packaging in glass ensures that your product has the competitive edge, as more and more consumers are demanding glass for its pure, recyclable, and premium characteristics,” says Joseph Cattaneo, president of the Glass Packaging Institute. “Glass containers continue to lead the pack in providing the aesthetics consumers want in a ‘green’ package.”

Among the winners of the different product categories, GPI will choose one package design to receive the Clear Choice Award for Overall Package Design, and honor eligible entries with GPI’s Conversion Recognition. To enter, participants should visit the GPI website and fill out a call-for-entries form. Industry judges will vote to honor winning products as the best glass packaging designs in North America. All 2010 Clear Choice Awards winners will receive an award and benefit from industry-wide recognition and brand building media coverage. Winning products will be displayed at InterBev 2010 (September 22 – 24) in Orlando, FL, and at The Showcase of Packaging Innovations at PACK EXPO International 2010 (October 31 – November 3) at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.

Visit the GPI website to check out past winners and find out more information on submission guidelines. There is no fee to enter. All entries must be postmarked by Saturday, July 10, 2010.
